Love this place! They do a build your own breakfast sandwich. I get bacon, a fried egg, and cheese on a croissant. Probably my favorite breakfast sandwich in town. Drinks are also always good. A lot of people like to sit and work, so seating can be limited. Parking is easy. There is a lot out front with free spots for those dining/shopping.

Great work-from-home/study spot. They recommended certain substitutions for my matcha latte, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! I also tried their limited edition jalapeno bacon egg and cheese bagel. Outside seating was amazing, and there was plenty of parking.

Mercantile & Mash is such a cool spot in downtown Charleston. The vibe is chic and laid-back — perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. I tried the honey latte and it was amazing — just the right amount of sweetness with smooth, rich espresso. The space itself has a modern-industrial feel with lots of natural light, and there’s always a nice buzz without being too loud. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel comfortable. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to when I’m in the area.

Great spot! I was looking for a coffee shop where I could study and this place was perfect. Lots of space to find a spot to work/study. Added bonus, the food was really good! Burger had pimento cheese, bacon, jam and pickles - it was spot on. The Caesar salad dressing was super light. Will definitely return in the future.

We enjoyed our breakfast and the service was good. I ordered the Buddha bowl and added grilled chicken. It was very tasty! My husband ordered the fried chicken biscuit and said that it was very good. Our lattes were really good too!

Great food and fun atmosphere! Ended up here by accident and ended up really enjoying it. The person I was with even ended up ordering twice because he loved it so much. The burger is great (per my burger connoisseur friend) and their yogurt bowl is also really yummy :)

My wife and I absolutely love Mercantile and Mash—it’s become an almst weekly tradition for us! Whether it’s grabbing an iced coffee or iced tea (both are fantastic) or indulging in their ever-changing delicious food selections, this spot never disappoints. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back, making it a perfect place for both casual visits and business meetings. As a real estate agent, I often bring clients here to chat over a bite while we explore downtown Charleston properties. The combination of great food, friendly service, and a cool, relaxed vibe makes it an ideal setting for both work and leisure. If you’re looking for a go-to cafe in Charleston, Mercantile and Mash is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Great. Food was excellent. We were able to take our pup with us and eat outside. I had the corned beef hash with a fried egg. It was great, but the potatoes seemed like the frozen kind. But it was fine. I would definitely go back. Coffee was also great.
